Old Settlers Day
Old Settler’s Day is a long-standing tradition here in Alexander with a long and rich history. It started way back in 1946 with the first celebration to honor the brave individuals that settled this fine town, starting with Lem Burns, to celebrate his birthday and the feats of the settlers who build McKenzie County. The affair was a huge success, with more than a thousand people coming to celebrate. And so, the tradition began, every September the town gets together for fun, festivities and a free feed for all to enjoy!
This Year
The Town
The town itself is honoring Hildreth “Hilly” Abelmann this year for the 81st annual Old Settler’s Day. They will be having a huge celebration, to learn more about the event this year, read the attached Round Up article. You can also learn more about Ablemann himself using the second button!
The Museum
